WORLDCLASS ORCHESTRA CONCERT

“..an immense compliment to the conductor Gloria Isabel Ramos Triano,

who, with her spanish temperament, and an incredible energie,

had full command of the orchestra”

Toggenburger Blatt, Dezember 2018

PRESSCRITICS "LA TORRE DEL ORO"

REAL ORQUESTA SINFÓNICA DE SEVILLA

TEATRO DE LA MAESTRANZA

23 and 24. September 2010

« LA TORRE DEL ORO»

Premiere

Gloria Isabel Ramos Triano

Composer and conductor

New perspectives

« Nobody could have imagined that, behind this emblematic andalusian title "La torre del oro" , such an abstract composition would come to life. Composer and conductor Ramos Triano describes her music just as "eclectic", but, the present she has done to the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla with this score, of much more carats we could have ever expected, is an example of the actual moment of musical creation, in a free atonality, with suggestive percussionist licenses, which quietly remember to the world of typical Spanish sounds of Rodrigo and Manuel de Falla"

Ismael G. Cabral, für «El correo de Andalucía”, 25. September 2010

Intense firebird

«  ... this work connects directly with the approach of almost every other european contemporary composition, but letting recognize discrete winks to the music of Manuel de Falla, like andalusian scales in the left hand of the piano, soft tremoli in the strings, the trumpet sounds with sordino, bells…»

C. Tarín, für ABC Sevilla, 25. September 2010

MUSIKKOLLEGIUM WINTERTHUR

«…virtuous body language, like a skating dancer…”

“…in the exposition of the Vieuxtemps Violin Concerto nr. 5,

which she conducted with temperament,

was immediately clear the good communication

between the orchestra and the conductor”

“…it germinated, flowered and shined young Bizet’s Symphony,

a youth we could hear in the very impulsive interpretation of the beginning.

Perfect expression of the interpretative character of each of the 4 movements”

Rita Wolfenberger for “Der Landbote», april 2009

H.W. HENZE ELEGY FOR YOUNG LOVERS

BILBAO SYMPHONIEORCHESTRA, TEATRO ARRIAGA, BILBAO JANUARY 2009

“Gloria Isabel Ramos Triano, a young and energetic conductor,

was very good and gave an interesting musical interpretation of the score.

Her belief in this music,

enabled her to transmit her conviction and energy

to the reduced orchestra under her.

For me, both conductor and chamber orchestra,

were surprising, and very pleasant discoveries”

Jose Maria Irurzun for The Opera Critic, Bilbao, January 2009

“Her gestures, always sure and clear, made possible a good communication

between orchestra and stage”

THÜRINGEN PHILHARMONIE

“very small, very tender, she seemed to fly with her baton.

And what she celebrated on the podium! Fascinating!

Lightly, almost dancing, with the flexibility of a Prima ballerina

until the fingertips.

And then again surprisingly strong, demanding.

The podium as spring table, inviting the musicians to higher flights.

Her unique conducting aesthetic (with or without baton)

brought together an intensive body expression

with immense knowledge and intelligent musicality”

“Gloria Isabel Ramos Triano has been, since long time ago,

the most interesting personality to be presented at guest conductor

in our orchestra.

And she made us curious about more”

Lilian Klement, Freies Wort Suhl, Oktober 2008

«Concerts with music from French impressionists must flow.

Ramos Triano was the right conductor at the podium of the

Thüringen Philharmonic Gotha-Suhl.

She conducts with big, flowing and soft gestures,

giving the right impulse at the right time.

With her flexibility, she took the most diverse sound colors out of the orchestra, animated strings and winds to fluid transitions

and to astonishing sound explosions.

Ramos Triano’s conducting stile enthusiasts’ us”

Wieland Fischer, Thüringische Landeszeitung.

Oktober 2008

RACHMANINOFF

BILBAO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

“…the orchestra showed its excellent quality,

with well-regulated and centered emissions,

adequate to Rachmaninoff’s music.

Under the baton of the conductor, all the instrumental families

sounded with the expressivity this work and stile demanded…”

J.A.Z for DEIA, Bilbao Januar 2008

SPANISCH NATIONAL ORCHESTRA AND CHOIRS

Luis de Pablo Compositions

“Gloria Isabel Ramos has the really talent to musical narrative (…)

and to create sensations

of evolution, expectation, arriving, hope, culmination, discovering.

She has also the gift of coloring and characterizing,

from violence to lyrical effusion.

Every section of the composition seems to find, in her hands,

its own sound and emotional world”

Andrés Ibáñez for ABC, June 2007

BIZET, CARMEN

“A special rendering offered the Orchestra of the National Theatre of Albania under the baton of Spanish conductor Gloria Isabel Ramos Triano.

 Thin and small,

she seemed to fly with her baton over the heads of the musicians,

singing every word of the libretto.

An excellent interpretation from her side, in which the public fall in love”

Alma Mille for Shekulli 2007

MDR RADIO SYMPHONIE ORCHESTER LEIPZIG, GERMANY

«Spanish Temperament with Madame Dynamite”

“…wonderful orchestra-piano and sound full solo episodes

caught the attention of the public…”

“…the symphony of Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga,

was the best piece to understand why the conductor, after her first international successes, as the Spanish “Madame Dynamite”.

Ramos Triano conducted with authentic fire.

And she left not place to preciseness be lost.

With flexible tempi she found very harmonic and lively phrasing,

and developed a limpid, transparent sound, full of Mozart’s grace.

Simultaneously, and this is really highest orchestra conducting art,

was she capable to play with very fine scale of different sound characters,

from  soft, almost whispered pianissimo over melodies which opened herself in a magic way, until almost sharp string sound, that, for example in the Minuett and in the temperament full Allegro of the Finale,

seasoned in an impressing way the sound sweetness.

With the whole concert, especially with th Symphony, conductor Ramos Triano did conquer the hearts of the music lovers in Magdeburg”

Liane Bornholdt, www.volkstimme.de, Juni 2006

“Dancing impulse, temperament full contrasts”

“Very promising the young conductor Gloria Isabel Ramos Triano…”

with musical profundity, sure instinct, fantasy,

full design

and lots of energy”

BARTOK

SHOSTAKOVITCH

«What a baton! »

«…she lived the music she interpreted, enjoyed expressing it,

and imposingly commanded -toreador-like

with her slight bodily frame

which is, however, great in intimate expressiveness.

Tireless applause bade her farewell”

December 2005

SCHLESSWIG HOLSTEIN SYMPHONIEORCHESTRA

HOLST The Planets

“…under the vigorous management of Gloria Isabel Ramos Triano…

a successful debut…

Ramos Triano, who conducted the score by heart and without baton,

appeared to conjure up each sound with the movement of her hands.

She really achieved, together with the orchestra, a tremendous,

colorful, and fascinating performance”

Schleswig Holstein Newspaper Rendsburg, October 2005

«As lyrical as her name”

“Agile tempos, sensitive gesture, with her temperament

Gloria Isabel Ramos Triano rocketed the orchestra into universe…

Crackling tension is unavoidable with this bundle of energy as a conductor. With no score in front of her, and no baton in her hand, it is her whole body which triggers the exact time beat.

Her hands are like flowers caressing butterflies,

her lithe body commands the compact orchestra’s enthusiasm.

For an increased intensity,

she strikes with a left hand which any boxer would fear.

The fiery conductor exhibited the pose of a toreador and the jump of a wildcat.

With the greatest attention, the orchestra and the audience followed her every movement.

Applause and bravo calls…”

CADAQUÉS INTERNATIONAL CONDUCTING PRIZE

“The decision to give the prize to Gloria Isabel Ramos Triano, was received with a long ovation from the audience. “The composition which we commissioned to be premiered by the finalists, is decisive for the jury and allows the assessment not only of the adaptability of a conductor to a contemporary score, but also the conductors capacity to learn and command a completely new piece of music in a very brief space of time, less than a week. Ramos Triano showed security and total command of the orchestra during the final test with the Orquesta de cadaqués. The finalists had to conduct the commissioned composition and various movements of three other works. Amongst them, the concert for clarinet from Weber, with E. Luna as soloist, to evaluate the conductor’s capability to give the soloist the leading role, without allowing the interest of the orchestra to decline”

El Pais July 1998

as this little Hellenic maiden (Mendelssohn’s words about Beethoven’s  4th)

The initial fragrant transparency developed into a flexible tension.

The conductor indicated, translated what was in her mind

and the orchestra surrended itself gladly to her command
